Terrorists Kill Eight in Borno Army Base Attack

On Friday, a terrorist attack occurred at the Nigerian army base in Mandaragirau, located in the Biu Local Government Area of Borno State, resulting in the deaths of eight individuals, including five soldiers and three members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF). The attack, which took place around 0300 hours, was confirmed by Lt. Col. Haruna Sani, who stated that troops successfully contained the assault despite heavy rainfall and poor visibility.

The soldiers engaged in fierce counter-offensive actions, inflicting casualties on the attackers. The fallen personnel were honored for their bravery, and three CJTF members were airlifted for medical care.

The statement emphasized the resilience of the troops and the ongoing pressure on terrorist elements in the region. Local government sources confirmed the incident, urging the government to intensify security measures and improve intelligence gathering to combat the insurgency.
