Boko Haram Strikes Borno Army Base, Eight Soldiers Killed

Boko Haram insurgents executed a significant early morning attack on a Nigerian Army base located in Borno State, specifically targeting the 162 Battalion along Mandara Buratai Road. The assault, which took place on a Friday morning, caught the stationed troops off guard due to poor visibility caused by torrential rainfall.

Military sources confirmed that at least eight soldiers were killed during the fierce gun battle, with several others sustaining injuries. The insurgents managed to overrun a section of the military outpost, leading to a brutal assault on personnel.

A counter-offensive was reportedly organized to repel the insurgents and recover the bodies of the fallen soldiers. Additional security sources indicated that reinforcements were dispatched to assist in regaining control and assessing the full extent of casualties and material damage incurred during the breach.
