Bandits Kill Resident, Abduct Nine in Kaduna Community

In the early hours of Thursday, suspected bandits attacked Babban Saura (PW) community in Chikun local government area of Kaduna state, resulting in the death of a resident named Sikiru and the abduction of nine individuals, including his wife and two children. The assailants first targeted the home of an elderly man, abducting two of his children, before moving to Sikiru's residence where he attempted to resist them.

During the struggle, Sikiru was shot and killed. The attackers also invaded a neighboring house, abducting a woman, Maman Mubarak, and her four children.

Maman was later rescued by soldiers and local vigilantes, while her children remain in captivity. Usman Adamu, the commander of the local vigilantes, confirmed that they received a distress call and alerted soldiers, who assisted in the rescue operation.

Despite efforts to recover the remaining victims, the bandits escaped with them. Residents expressed concern over the ongoing security situation in the area.
