Bandits Kill Two, Abduct 26 in Kaduna Attacks

Bandits attacked communities in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, resulting in the deaths of two residents, Alhaji Surajo and Alhaji Ado, and the abduction of 26 others. The attacks occurred in Tunburku and Tudun Amada during the early hours of Monday, around 12:30 a.m.

Ayyuba Usman was also injured in the assaults. The Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KadVS), through its Public Relations Officer Yunusa Shehu, reported that the simultaneous nature of the attacks has heightened security concerns in the area, which has faced repeated threats from armed groups.

In addition to the abductions, the bandits engaged in cattle-rustling operations in other communities, stealing between 15 and 17 cattle in Kura and Kallon Kura. Following intelligence on the bandits' movements, KadVS personnel engaged the attackers, recovering 19 cattle during a gun battle on Saturday night, September 5, under the supervision of the KadVS Sector Coordinator in Giwa.
