TETFund To Spend ₦25 Billion To Install Streetlights, Other Security Facilities Across Tertiary Schools

The Chairman of the TETFund Governing Board announced plans to allocate ₦25 billion for the installation of streetlights and security facilities in tertiary institutions. The initiative aims to enhance security for students, staff, and institutional assets.

Additionally, the fund will be used to expand the training capacity in medical sciences to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in the country. Three selected tertiary institutions in each geopolitical zone will receive funding to improve infrastructure in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and allied health disciplines.

The funding for these projects is made possible by the record ₦3 trillion revenue generated by TETFund in 2025, derived from a 3% education tax on company profits. The Chairman emphasized the importance of a robust monitoring and evaluation framework to ensure that the funds are strictly used for approved projects.
