The Sun News Editor Buries Father, Centenarian Community Leader Honored in Edo State

The Sun News Editor, Mr. Nat Osewel, announced the funeral activities for his late father, Pa Andrew Osewel Ekpenwel, a centenarian and esteemed community leader in Esan West Local Government Area, Edo State.

The funeral rites commenced with a vigil mass on February 12 at the Uhiel Development Center Auditorium. Traditional rites were scheduled for February 13, followed by a gathering to entertain guests on February 14 at Ukpok Primary School.

The funeral activities concluded with a thanksgiving mass at the Native Mari Catholic Church in Uhiel on Sunday. Tributes were paid to Pa Ekpenwel, highlighting his life of dedicated service and his role in the development of Ukpok.

Notable figures such as Sir Charles Osezua and Dr. AB Ayeni eulogized the late elder council chairman, recognizing his contributions to peace and community development through the Cornerstone Peace Foundation.
