Peter Obi Advocates Education for Inmates to Foster Rehabilitation and Reintegration

Former Nigerian Vice President and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is pushing for education and skill acquisition programs for inmates nationwide. He highlighted the need to give inmates a chance to transform their lives and contribute positively to society.

Obi's appeal came after representatives from correctional centers in Anambra State requested assistance for inmates to participate in the National Examination Council (NECO) exams. The initiative aims to provide inmates with a second chance through education and training, promoting inclusivity and compassion in society.

Obi also referenced his visit to California State University Sacramento, where he was inspired by transformative programs supporting rehabilitation and reintegration efforts.
