Rothen's podcast, Dugarry expressed surprise at the notion that Real Madrid's issues stem solely from Mbappe's desire to leave the club. He pointed out that the club should consider selling him instead.

Dugarry criticized several players within the Real Madrid squad, labeling Edouardo Camavinga, Arda Güler, Federico Valverde, Marco Asensio, and Aurelien Tchouameni as insufficient for the team's requirements. He emphasized that these players do not possess the caliber needed to succeed at Real Madrid, stating that they have been overrated and have not become regular starters.
