Leadership Renaissance: Dr. Johnson's Vision for Nigeria

Dr. Robert Abdullahi Johnson, a former university lecturer and author, unveiled his book on leadership titled "Renaissance" in Abuja on June 18. The book addresses Nigeria's political leadership crisis, highlighting the incompetence and callousness of current leaders.

Johnson argues that Nigeria must rediscover its values and potential to achieve a rebirth in leadership. He reflects on the historical context of Nigeria's leadership struggles, noting that the country has often been hindered by ethnic and religious divisions.

He critiques past administrations, including that of Olusegun Obasanjo from 1999 to 2007, for failing to improve governance. Johnson's work calls for a shift from power-driven leadership to one focused on love and service to the nation.

He believes that Nigeria can only progress when leadership prioritizes the collective good over narrow interests, emphasizing the need for a new vision to navigate the country's socio-economic and political challenges.
