Natasha Akpoti Calls for PDP Reconciliation After Court Ruling

Natasha Akpoti, a senator representing Kogi Central, has called on leaders of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to pursue reconciliation after a recent Appeal Court judgment. In a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday through her media aide Mike Idoko, Akpoti urged party members nationwide to view the judgment as an opportunity to restore unity and strengthen the party's internal democracy in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

She expressed concern that ongoing legal battles within the party could undermine the aspirations of loyal members hoping to contest elections on the PDP platform. Akpoti emphasized that political parties primarily exist to provide a platform for citizens to serve their communities and warned that internal disputes should not derail the ambitions of party members.

She further encouraged party leaders to adopt statesmanship and compromise to resolve internal disagreements, stressing the importance of engaging in constructive dialogue for the party's survival and progress.
