APC National Convention Set for Abuja with 8,453 Delegates

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is scheduled to hold its national convention in Abuja on Friday and Saturday, with participation expected from 8,453 delegates across Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. The convention, themed "Unity, Progress, Consolidation, Renewed Hope Agenda," aims to reflect the party's vision and provide an opportunity for leadership elections and policy engagement.

Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information, disclosed details during a media briefing at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. The event will also allow the party to review its achievements and align its leadership structure with administrative policies.

Aminu Masari, the chairman of the APC National Convention Central Coordinating Committee and former governor of Katsina State, emphasized that the party will strictly adhere to zoning arrangements for the election of party officials, warning aspirants against seeking positions outside their zones to avoid confusion within the party. A total of 25 sub-committees have been established to ensure effective coordination for the convention.
