Tinubu Allocates Land to Ambassadors-Designate in Abuja

On Tuesday, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), disclosed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has allocated land to ambassadors-designate in Abuja. This initiative is part of efforts to strengthen diplomatic engagement and encourage closer ties with Nigeria.

The allocation was discussed during a courtesy visit by ambassadors-designate led by Dunoma Umar, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Wike emphasized that the President's decision aims to ensure that Nigeria's representatives have permanent residences in Abuja, which is crucial for fostering stronger engagement with foreign missions.

The initiative reflects Nigeria's commitment to enhancing its diplomatic presence and attracting foreign investment, particularly in sectors like agriculture and waste management. Wike noted that the allocation is a gesture to deepen diplomatic ties and mirror Nigeria's vision of being a viable destination for investment.

He also dismissed concerns about Nigeria drifting towards a one-party state, affirming the country's commitment to democratic principles.
