Tinubu Appoints Fadewa as Homeland Security Adviser

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Major General Adeyinka Fadewa (retd) as Special Adviser on Homeland Security. The announcement was made through a circular signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Georg Akum, and issued by the Permanent Secretary, Dr.

Ibrahim Abubakar Kana Mondai. This appointment reflects the administration's commitment to strengthening internal security coordination and enhancing intelligence-driven operations to tackle emerging security threats across Nigeria.

Fadewa is a highly decorated retired military officer with over three decades of experience in military intelligence operations and national security strategy. He played a key role in shaping Nigeria's intelligence coordination framework during his tenure as Principal General Staff Officer at the National Security Adviser’s office from 2015 to 2021.

Following his retirement, he served as a Senior Research Fellow at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre in Abuja. President Tinubu expressed confidence that Fadewa's expertise will advance the administration's efforts toward achieving a safer and more secure Nigeria.
