Tinubu Appoints Major General Fadewa as Security Adviser

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Major General Adeyinka Fadewa (rtd) as Special Adviser on Homeland Security. This decision, announced in a statement issued on Sunday by Chris Ugwuegbulam, is part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria's internal security coordination and enhance intelligence-led responses to emerging threats.

The appointment reflects the administration's commitment to deepening inter-agency collaboration and improving intelligence integration to reinforce the nation's security architecture. Major General Fadewa brings over three decades of experience in military intelligence operations and expertise in counter-terrorism and national security strategy.

He previously served as Principal General Staff Officer at the Office of the National Security Adviser from 2015 to 2021, contributing to the strengthening of Nigeria's intelligence coordination framework and supporting the establishment of the Intelligence Fusion Centre. President Tinubu expressed confidence that Fadewa's appointment would enhance homeland security coordination and improve proactive risk management across the country.
