Tinubu Appoints Fola Adeola to Lead Petroleum Reform Taskforce

President Bola Tinubu has established a Presidential Petroleum Reform Taskforce to oversee the next phase of structural reform in Nigeria's petroleum sector. He appointed Fola Adeola, co-founder of Guaranty Trust Bank and chairman of Fate Foundation, to lead this time-bound task force.

The task force, which includes members such as Ademola Adeyemi and Bero Osagi, will produce an executive-ready reform blueprint and report directly to the president. The task force is expected to deliver three major reform blueprints within six months, focusing on immediate structural fixes, capital unlocking strategies, and a ten-year roadmap for energy transformation.

The initiative aims to consolidate ongoing reforms, strengthen Nigeria's position as a global energy investment destination, and enhance economic growth. The task force will operate as a technical reform body, engaging with industry stakeholders and ensuring coherence in the petroleum sector reform architecture.

Tinubu has directed relevant ministries and agencies to provide full technical support for the task force's initiatives.
