Tinubu Appoints New PTDF Boss, Renews TCN MD Tenure

President Bola Tinubu appointed Professor Shu Aib Aliyu as the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), effective immediately, replacing Ahm Aminu who resigned to pursue the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State. The appointment was announced in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Strategic Communications.

Aliyu, who has extensive experience in academic administration and research leadership, is expected to leverage his expertise to enhance the PTDF's impact on human capital development and support the oil and gas sector in line with national priorities. Additionally, President Tinubu renewed Sule Abdulaziz's tenure as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) for a second and final term, following a performance review that noted improvements in the national transmission network, grid stability, and expansion of transmission capacity.

Tinubu urged both appointees to diligently fulfill their duties in alignment with the administration's agenda.
