Tinubu Appoints New PTDF Executive Secretary, Renews TCN MD

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Professor Shu Aibu Shehu Aliyu as the new Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), replacing Ahmad Galadima Aminu, who recently resigned to participate in the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State. The appointment is effective immediately.

Professor Aliyu is recognized for his distinguished academic career and extensive experience in research and educational leadership, and his role is expected to strengthen Nigeria's petroleum sector and advance human capital development in the energy industry. Additionally, President Tinubu renewed Engr Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz's appointment as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) for a second and final term, following a comprehensive assessment of his leadership performance.

Engr Abdulaziz has three decades of experience in the power sector and is expected to enhance Nigeria's electricity transmission network and regional integration within the West African Power Pool.
