Tinubu Reappoints Engr Sule Abdulaziz as TCN CEO

On April 2, 2026, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reappointed Engr Sule Abdulaziz for a second term as Managing Director/CEO of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). Abdulaziz, with 30 years of experience in the power sector, is expected to continue critical reforms and enhance the efficiency of the national grid. The Civil Society Group for Good Governance (CSGGG) has expressed concerns about Abdulaziz's performance and has issued a seven-day ultimatum for his removal. Additionally, Adeniran Taiwo from the Arise O Compatriots Initiative has threatened peaceful protests if the reappointment is not reversed, citing the poor state of Nigeria's electricity supply as a pressing issue.
