Tinubu Appoints Shehu Aliyu as PTDF Executive Secretary

President Bola Tinubu appointed Professor Shehu Aliyu as the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) to replace Ahm Galadima, who recently resigned to participate in the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State. The announcement was made by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga on Thursday.

Tinubu urged Aliyu to discharge his responsibilities with diligence and integrity, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda. Aliyu, who has extensive experience in research and education, is expected to leverage his wealth of experience to enhance human capital development and support the oil and gas sector in line with national priorities.

This appointment follows the recent renewal of Sule Ahm Abdulaziz's position as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) for a second term, effective immediately. Abdulaziz's leadership has reportedly led to notable improvements in Nigeria's electricity transmission network.
