Tinubu Appoints Wasiu Olanrewaju-Smart as Adviser

President Bola Tinubu appointed Dr. Wasiu Olanrewaju-Smart, aged 40, as his Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters – House of Representatives, effective immediately.

He replaces Hon. Ibrahim Olanrewaju, who resigned earlier in the year to pursue an elective position in his home state.

The appointment was announced by Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu's Adviser on Information and Strategy. Tinubu expressed confidence in Olanrewaju-Smart's ability to enhance legislative coordination and relations between the Presidency, Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), and the House of Representatives.

Olanrewaju-Smart holds a PhD in Educational Management from Lead City University and a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University, where he was also an Edward Mason Fellow in Public Policy. His previous roles include serving as a Policy Fellow at Quantum Alliance AI, USA, and various positions within the National Assembly, culminating in Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the 9th and 10th Assemblies.
