Tinubu Promotes Unity at Argungu Fishing Festival

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stated that the Argungu fishing festival will be sustained to promote unity and agricultural development in Kebbi State. He commended Governor Nasir Idris for his commitment to improving agricultural administration and food security.

The festival, which is 83 years old, serves as a cultural and economic boost for Kebbi, with plans to enhance agricultural programs benefiting the people. The event, attended by various dignitaries including former INEC Chairman Attahir Jega, featured a fishing competition where Abubakar Usman Maiyama won with a fish weighing 59kg, receiving two saloon cars and N1 million cash.

Second place went to Abdullahi Garba with a 40kg catch, and third place to Danlansu Dankani with a 33kg catch. The festival is positioned as a significant cultural event that reflects the strength of Kebbi's traditions and aims to attract investment and support for agricultural initiatives, particularly for women and youth.
