Tinubu Appoints Kalu to Rebuild APC in Abia State

President Bola Tinubu has appointed former Abia State Governor Orji Uzor Kalu to coordinate the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, aiming to strengthen the party's position ahead of the 2027 general elections. Kalu announced this on his official Facebook page following a meeting with the President at the presidential villa in Abuja.

He expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and committed to unifying the party to ensure electoral success. The President is also contemplating automatic Senate tickets for a select group of high-ranking lawmakers, which analysts interpret as a strategy to preserve legislative stability and reward loyalty.

This includes notable figures such as Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris and others. Although the APC leadership has not formally confirmed the proposal for automatic tickets, it has sparked debate within political circles regarding efforts to retain experienced legislators and consolidate political loyalty ahead of the upcoming elections.
