Tinubu, Buni, Geidam Discuss Yobe Security in Abuja

On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu met with Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni and Minister of Police Affairs Ibrahim Geidam at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The meeting focused on security and development issues in Yobe State, with Governor Buni's Director General of Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed, stating that the discussions aimed to strengthen collaboration between the federal government and Yobe State, particularly in infrastructure and security.

President Tinubu commended both Buni and Geidam for their roles in maintaining stability in the state and reiterated the federal government's support for subnational efforts to improve living standards in the northeast. Sources familiar with the meeting indicated that political considerations ahead of the 2027 governorship elections were also discussed, with Buni expected to complete his second term in office by 2027.

Although there was no official confirmation of the political discussions, the presence of Geidam, a former governor, fueled speculation about ongoing consultations within the ruling All Progressives Congress.
