Tinubu Meets Military Leaders Amid Rising Insecurity

On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu convened a meeting with the country’s top military leaders at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to discuss the escalating security concerns across Nigeria. The meeting included key figures such as Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede, Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sundai Anek, and Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Idi Abass.

This closed-door session followed reports of terrorist attacks on military positions in Borno State, which led to the deaths of several soldiers, including at least three officers of the rank of lieutenant colonel, and the abduction of civilians. The meeting is part of ongoing efforts by the federal government to assess the security situation and review military operations in areas facing violent attacks.
