Tinubu Commissions Body of Benchers' Office Annex in Abuja

On Monday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commissioned the newly completed Body of Benchers' office annex located in the Institute Research District of Abuja, Federal Capital Territory. During the commissioning ceremony, Tinubu stated that the architectural edifice represents a significant milestone in his administration's Renewed Hope agenda, aimed at strengthening democratic institutions and ensuring judicial independence.

He emphasized the need for top-tier infrastructure for the legal community and highlighted the importance of efficient operations without interference in judicial independence. Tinubu commended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for his aggressive infrastructure drive, noting that the completion of the project reflects ongoing urban renewal efforts in Abuja.

The annex is expected to alleviate accommodation challenges for members traveling from outside Abuja for regulatory programs. Wike revealed that the request for the annex was made by the immediate past chairman of the Body of Benchers, Solomon Awomolo.

The project was included in the FCT's supplementary budget approved by the National Assembly.
