Tinubu Unveils Remodelled Abuja City Gate as Landmark

On July 9, 2026, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu officially commissioned the remodelled Abuja City Gate, which he described as a powerful symbol of his administration's renewal hope agenda. The project, which was awarded in November of the previous year, was completed in record time under the supervision of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) and Julius Berger PLC.

The new design includes an elegant water fountain with 37 nozzles representing Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Tinubu emphasized the importance of the City Gate as a landmark that would elevate Nigeria's capital to a prestigious global status.

He commended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for his dedication to urban renewal and called on Abuja residents to take ownership of public infrastructure. The remodelled City Gate also features a car park for 60 vehicles and recreational facilities, ensuring its longevity and maintenance.

The project reflects a new era of infrastructure renewal in Nigeria.
