Tinubu Addresses Passport Renewal Delays for Nigerians in Rwanda

President Bola Tinubu has instructed Nigeria's diplomatic mission in Rwanda to resolve the delays in passport renewal services that have left many Nigerians unable to renew their travel documents, including newborns. This directive was made during an interactive session with the Nigerian community in Rwanda, which included 28 PhD holders and executives from multinational corporations.

Tinubu pledged to ensure a transparent government and emphasized the importance of unity among Nigerians, regardless of ethnic backgrounds. He commended the Nigerian community in Rwanda for their contributions and encouraged them to continue working towards Nigeria’s development.

Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Director General of the Nigerian Diaspora Commission, highlighted the need for a conducive environment for Nigerians abroad to contribute to national development. The session also addressed concerns regarding the absence of a passport office at the Nigerian High Commission in Kigali, with attendees sharing their difficulties in obtaining and renewing passports.
