Tinubu Dissolves Presidential Implementation Committee

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate dissolution of the Presidential Implementation Committee (PIC) on the Alienation of Federal Government Properties, as announced by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy. The dissolution is effective immediately, with all matters related to the committee now coordinated by the Honourable Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, starting November 5, 2025.

The decision follows the Federal Government's conclusion that the committee's mandate is no longer necessary, citing that its activities had extended beyond the original scope, leading to multiple litigations across Nigeria. The PIC was established in 2000 during former President Olusegun Obasanjo's administration to oversee the privatisation, sale, and lease of Federal Government properties.

The statement also directed the former Secretary of the PIC, B. S.

Dutsin-Ma, to cease acting on behalf of the committee and the Federal Government regarding related matters.
