Tinubu Meets ICPC Chairman Over Corruption Investigation

President Bola Tinubu received Dr Musa Aliyu, the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja. Aliyu arrived at approximately 5:40 pm, and the agenda of their meeting was not disclosed.

This visit occurred a day after Tinubu discussed a comprehensive forensic investigation into the fictitious Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) during a Federal Executive Council meeting. The ICPC had previously revealed the existence of at least two additional fake agencies operating within government institutions.

This meeting also followed Aliyu's submission of the commission's interim report on the PFIPC investigation to Tinubu on August 6, 2026. The report detailed that Adeniyi Matthew Adeyemi, who claimed to be associated with the PFIPC, was never appointed by the Federal Government, and the agency itself was not legally established.

The report recommended Adeyemi's prosecution and administrative sanctions against public officers involved in the scandal.
