Tinubu Appoints Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Foreign Minister

President Bola Tinubu has officially appointed Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, following the resignation of Yusuf Tuggar, who stepped down to participate in the 2027 elections. The announcement was made via a release on Wednesday, which also indicated that Sola Enikanolaye has been nominated as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, subject to Senate confirmation.

Enikanolaye, who hails from Kogi State, has served as a senior special assistant to the president on foreign affairs and international relations and is recognized as a distinguished diplomat with over three decades of exemplary service in Nigeria's foreign service. His previous roles include serving as permanent secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and holding diplomatic posts in various countries, including Ethiopia, Serbia, Canada, the UK, and India.

President Tinubu emphasized that these appointments are part of ongoing efforts to reposition Nigeria's foreign policy architecture for greater efficiency and to strengthen global partnerships.
