Tinubu Endorses Hamzat as APC Consensus Candidate for Lagos

On Wednesday, Bola Tinubu, the President of Nigeria, officially endorsed Obafemi Hamzat as the consensus gubernatorial candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State for the upcoming 2027 elections. This endorsement was made public by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga via a verified social media post.

Hamzat, who is currently the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, was presented as the consensus candidate during a meeting held at the State House in Abuja with members of the Lagos State Govern Advisory Council (GAC), which is led by Prince Tajudeen Oluyole. The meeting took place on Tuesday, and the formal endorsement was revealed after a closed-door session with Tinubu, which included notable attendees such as Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila and several senators.
