Tinubu Returns to Nigeria After Successful UK Visit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu returned to Nigeria on Sunday after a state visit to the United Kingdom, which was described as a resounding success. The visit, undertaken at the invitation of King Charles III, included a ceremonial welcome at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, featuring a guard of honor.

During the visit, President Tinubu met with UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer at Downing Street, where they agreed on a deal valued at £746 million for the refurbishment of two major ports in Lagos. This visit marked a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, the first state visit by a Nigerian leader to the UK in 37 years.

Upon their return, President Tinubu and the First Lady arrived at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at 1:15 PM, where they were received by Deputy Governor Femi Hamzat and other dignitaries. President Tinubu is expected to observe Eid el-Fitr prayers at Dodan Barracks on Friday morning.
