Tinubu Appoints Oshiomhole for APC Mobilisation Role

On August 22, 2026, President Bola Tinubu appointed Adams Oshiomhole, the senator representing Edo North, as the Deputy Director-General in charge of mobilisation within the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections. This appointment aligns with the Tinubu administration's 'Renewed Hope' agenda as the APC prepares for a structured campaign.

The newly formed campaign council, comprising 223 members, will coordinate political mobilisation, administration, stakeholder engagement, and campaign activities across Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Oshiomhole's responsibilities include enhancing the party's grassroots presence and fostering a coalition of supporters.

His extensive organisational experience as a former governor and ex-APC national chairman is expected to benefit the campaign. The APC's early preparation is seen as crucial for retaining the presidency in 2027, with attention now on the strategies the council will implement.
