Tinubu, Obasanjo, Jonathan to Attend Chapel Dedication

The dedication of a new Christian chapel at the National Assembly is scheduled for March 1, 2026, with notable attendees including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former heads of state Yakubu Gowon, and former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan. The event, organized by the Christian Legislators Fellowship, aims to strengthen spiritual fellowship among Christian lawmakers and staff.

The chapel, which has a capacity of 750, is part of an initiative that began in May 2019 under the leadership of former Speaker Yakubu Dogara, who advocated for a permanent worship center for Christian legislators, complementing an existing mosque for Muslim members. The chapel is designed to serve as a spiritual hub, promoting unity and moral reflection among legislators while ensuring a structured environment for spiritual activities without disrupting legislative work.

The dedication ceremony is expected to attract prominent Christian leaders and dignitaries, marking a significant addition to faith infrastructure within Nigeria's parliament.
