Tinubu to Attend National Assembly Chapel Dedication

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will meet with former heads of state Yakubu Gowon, Olusegun Obasanjo, and Goodluck Jonathan during the dedication ceremony of a new 750-capacity Christian chapel at the National Assembly, scheduled for March 1, 2026. The event is organized by the Christian Legislators Fellowship of the National Assembly and is expected to attract prominent Nigerian clerics and policymakers.

The chapel, which was initiated in May 2019 during the leadership of former Speaker Yakubu Dogara, aims to provide a permanent worship space for Christian lawmakers and staff, addressing the need for religious inclusivity within the legislative complex, where a mosque has long existed. The project is seen as a milestone to strengthen spiritual fellowship among Christian lawmakers and staff.

The dedication ceremony will feature several clerics from different denominations, including Archbishop Daniel Okoh and Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, and is anticipated to draw wide participation from the broader Christian community.
