Tinubu Celebrates Pa Reuben Fasoranti's 100th Birthday

President Bola Tinubu congratulated elder statesman and Afenifere leader Pa Reuben Fasoranti on his 100th birthday, which falls on May 11. In a statement issued on Saturday, Tinubu described Fasoranti as a towering figure of integrity and discipline in national service.

He emphasized that Fasoranti deserves commendation for reaching this centenary milestone. Tinubu praised Fasoranti's educational achievements, noting his studies at the University College Ibadan, University of Hull in the United Kingdom, and Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.

He recalled Fasoranti's contributions to education, including founding Omoler Nursery and Primary School, Akure High School, and St. Francis Academy in honor of his late wife.

Tinubu acknowledged Fasoranti's distinguished service in various capacities, including as a member of the Finance Commission of Ondo State from 1979 to 1983, where he demonstrated financial prudence. He also recognized Fasoranti's role in the pro-democracy struggle against military dictatorship and his resilience in the face of personal tragedies, including the assassination attempts during the Abacha regime and the loss of his daughter in 2019.

Tinubu expressed gratitude for Fasoranti's continued support and wished him a long life.
