Tinubu Celebrates Nigerian Creativity at UK Art Exhibition

On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu commended the creativity and resilience of Nigerians at a modern art exhibition held at Tate Modern in London, part of his state visit to the United Kingdom. According to a statement from his special adviser, Bayo Onanuga, the exhibition showcased the ability of Nigerian artists to redefine their identity through art.

The theme of the exhibition, titled "Nigeria's Modern," reflects the revolutionary narratives of prominent Nigerian artists from the mid-20th century who have shaped their own identities. President Tinubu expressed optimism regarding Nigeria's economic trajectory, urging citizens to remain confident despite negative perceptions.

The event was hosted by UK Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy, who noted the strong ties between Nigeria and the UK, with trade between the two countries reaching £8.1 billion. Other attendees included Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, as well as several federal government officials.

Tinubu returned to Nigeria on Thursday, concluding his state visit.
