Tinubu Celebrates Nigeria's 91.45% Aviation Safety Rating

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commended Nigeria's aviation sector for attaining a record 91.45% safety rating from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). This achievement, announced in a press release issued on Thursday, reflects Nigeria's highest score ever in ICAO's safety audit system, indicating significant progress in the nation's aviation oversight and regulatory compliance.

The score was achieved during a recent audit debrief held at the headquarters of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) in Abuja, placing Nigeria well above the West African regional average of 61.1% and the global average of 70.4%. Tinubu emphasized that this achievement aligns with his administration's priorities to strengthen transport infrastructure as a key driver of economic growth.

He reiterated plans to position Nigeria as a leading aviation hub that meets and surpasses international standards. The President commended the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, for his role in this milestone and urged relevant agencies to fully implement ICAO auditor recommendations to sustain further improvements.
