Tinubu Celebrates Nigeria's Record 91.45% Aviation Safety Score

On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu welcomed Nigeria's aviation safety score of 91.45%, the highest ever recorded according to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). This score places Nigeria above the West African regional average of 61.1% and the global average of 70.4%, marking a significant improvement since the inception of the Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) in 1999.

Tinubu commended the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development for this achievement, emphasizing that it signals Nigeria's commitment to aviation safety standards and makes the country an attractive destination for investment in aviation infrastructure. He urged the ministry to ensure the implementation of all recommendations made by the ICAO auditors during their mission.

The president attributed this improvement to the five-point agenda of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, led by Festus Keyamo, focusing on strict compliance with safety regulations and enhancing the aviation sector's role in economic growth.
