Tinubu Outperforms Past Presidents, Claims APC Spokesman

During an interview on Channels Television, Morka, the spokesman for the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has outperformed previous democratically elected presidents of Nigeria, including Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, Goodluck Jonathan, and Muhammadu Buhari, in his first term. Morka pointed to the state of the Nigerian economy as evidence of Tinubu's achievements, stating that the indicators "speak for themselves." He attributed the economic challenges faced by Tinubu to the shortcomings of previous administrations, particularly the 16 years of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Morka defended Muhammadu Buhari's administration as a stabilizing force before Tinubu took office in May 2023, stating that Buhari prevented the country from further deterioration. He also highlighted the economic reforms introduced by Tinubu, including the removal of the petrol subsidy and changes to the foreign exchange regime, claiming they have helped reposition Nigeria's economy and are showing positive results.
