Tinubu Invites Guinea's President Doumbouya for Visit

President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has extended a formal invitation to Guinean President Mamadi Doumbouya for a state visit to Nigeria. This invitation was made following bilateral engagements on the sidelines of the Africa CEO Forum held in Kigali on Thursday.

Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, disclosed this information during a briefing with journalists. Dare mentioned that Doumbouya received the invitation warmly and is expected to visit Abuja in the near term.

The discussions between the two leaders are aimed at exploring potential partnerships, particularly in Guinea's vast mineral and metal sector. Tinubu's invitation comes after Doumbouya won Guinea's recent presidential election with 86.2 percent of the vote.

The country is scheduled to hold parliamentary elections within the next two weeks. The strategic meeting is expected to open avenues for economic cooperation between Nigeria and Guinea, leveraging Guinea's rich natural resource wealth, including significant deposits of bauxite, iron ore, gold, and diamonds.
