Tinubu Introduces Measures to Mitigate Fuel Price Impact

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has launched new measures aimed at easing the financial burden on Nigerians in response to the recent increase in fuel prices. This initiative was announced by Governor Umar Namadi during the Eid el-Fitr celebrations in Jigawa State.

Governor Namadi expressed deep concern over the situation, noting that the spike in petrol prices has exacerbated the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, which has affected global oil supply and consequently led to increased transport fares and the cost of goods and services. He assured that the federal government is aware of the challenges faced by the populace and is implementing measures to mitigate the impact, particularly in the transport sector.

The governor also mentioned that the Jigawa State government would support federal efforts with its own policy interventions aimed at alleviating economic strain on residents. Despite acknowledging the tough circumstances for households, he expressed confidence that combined efforts from both federal and state governments would gradually stabilize the situation across the country.
