Tinubu Takes Action to Mitigate Rising Fuel Prices

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has acknowledged the growing burden of rising fuel prices on Nigerians and is taking steps to reduce the impact on citizens, particularly in the transport sector. This announcement was made by Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, who revealed the president's position during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

The statement was shared by Hamisu Muhammad Gumel, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor. Governor Namadi expressed deep concern over the recent increase in fuel prices, which he linked to ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, adding pressure on Nigerians, especially regarding transport costs and the overall cost of living.

He noted that the president is aware of the burden these increases will place on the people and has begun implementing measures to mitigate the impact, particularly in the transport sector. The Jigawa State government is also complementing federal efforts by introducing policies and programs aimed at easing economic pressures on residents.
