Tinubu Announces Key Appointments in Education Sector

President Bola Tinubu has announced new appointments for several educational institutions in Nigeria, including the National Examinations Council (NECO), the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), and the Federal Polytechnic in Shendam, Plateau State. Professor Modup Adeola Adelabu has been appointed as the Chairman of the Governing Board of NECO, retaining Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi as the current registrar.

Dr. Bongfa Binfa has been appointed as the Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Shendam, for a single five-year term, following a public advertisement process.

Additionally, Professor Chinwe Veronica Anunobi's tenure as Director and Chief Executive of the National Library of Nigeria has been renewed for a final five-year term. Professor Babatunde Salako has been appointed as the new Chairman of NBTE, with a term ending on April 10, 2026.

These appointments aim to enhance the governance and operational effectiveness of these institutions.
