Tinubu Meets Ganduje, Badaru Amid Security Concerns

On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu conducted separate meetings with Abdullahi Ganduje, the former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Badaru Abubakar, a former minister of defense, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The meetings were held behind closed doors, generating political interest, although the specific purposes were not disclosed.

The discussions occur against a backdrop of increasing security concerns in the northeast, especially in Borno State, where terrorist attacks have intensified. Stakeholders are calling for renewed strategies to curb insurgency in the region.

Analysts suggest that Ganduje's visit to the Villa may be linked to managing opposition dynamics ahead of future elections, particularly since he served as the national chairman of the APC until resigning in July 2025. Despite the significance of these meetings, both Ganduje and Abubakar declined to comment to state house correspondents after their discussions with the president.
