Tinubu Meets Security Chiefs Over Rising Attacks

President Bola Tinubu held a closed-door meeting with key security chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja amid rising concerns over escalating terrorist attacks across Nigeria. The meeting included the Chief of Defence Staff, service chiefs from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), and the Inspector General of Police.

The discussions focused on the recent increase in attacks targeting security installations, with notable incidents reported in Borno State where soldiers were killed by Boko Haram, as well as kidnappings in Plateau, Benue, Kaduna, Niger, and Katsina States. The meeting aimed to strategize on measures to curtail the ongoing insecurity in Nigeria, reflecting the government's urgent response to the deteriorating security situation.
