Tinubu Mourns Emir of Ngazargamu's Passing

President Bola Tinubu mourned the death of Alhaji Ahmad Tijjani Ibn Saleh, the Emir of Ngazargamu, who passed away on June 9, 2026, in Cairo, Egypt, following a prolonged illness. In a statement issued on Tuesday by his special adviser, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described the late emir as a father, mentor, and custodian of tradition, whose life was dedicated to serving the people.

He emphasized that the emir embodied wisdom, humility, courage, and unwavering dedication to his subjects. Tinubu extended his condolences to the Ngazargamu Emir Council, the royal family, and the people of Yobe State, praying for Allah to forgive the emir's shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him Al Jannatul Firdau.

Tijjani Bala, the late emir's son and General Manager of the Yobe State Road Maintenance Agency, confirmed his father's death, expressing profound sorrow and total submission to the will of Allah.
