Tinubu Nominates Taiwo Oyedele as Finance Minister

On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu nominated Taiwo Oyedele as the Minister of State for Finance, succeeding Dori Anit Uzoka. This announcement was made through a release by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga.

Oyedele's role will include oversight of the Ministry of Budget and National Planning, which is part of a broader restructuring within the administration. His nomination is subject to confirmation by the Senate, with Senate President Godswill Akpabio receiving the official letter.

Taiwo Oyedele hails from Ikaram Akoko in Ondo State and has an extensive background in fiscal policy and tax reform, having served as the fiscal policy partner and Africa tax leader at PwC since 2001. He holds a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy from Yaba College of Technology, a BSc in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, and has completed executive education programs at the London School of Economics, Yale University, and Harvard Kennedy School.

Oyedele is also a professor at Babcock University in Ogun State and a visiting scholar at Lagos Business School.
