Taiwo Oyedele Sworn in as Minister of State for Finance

Taiwo Oyedele arrived at Aso Villa, Abuja, for his swearing-in as Minister of State for Finance, following his confirmation by the Senate on March 12. His nomination was presented by President Bola Tinubu and confirmed through a voice vote after an extensive screening session led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Oyedele, who hails from Ikaram Akoko in Ondo State, has over two decades of experience in fiscal policy and tax administration. He previously served as a fiscal policy partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers and was appointed head of the tax reform committee, which aims to overhaul Nigeria's tax system.

The committee produced four executive bills aimed at consolidating tax laws and introducing significant reforms, including zero income tax for Nigerians earning less than N800,000 annually. Oyedele replaces Dr.

Dori Uzoka and marks the third portfolio in the current administration. His experience is deemed critical as Nigeria faces significant fiscal challenges.
