Tinubu Opens 3rd National Para Games in Abuja

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu officially declared open the 3rd National Para Games on Saturday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. In his remarks, he praised Nigerian para athletes as true embodiments of endurance and the fighting spirit of Nigeria, acknowledging their contributions to the nation's success on the global stage.

Tinubu, representing the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Shehu Dikko, commended the determination and resilience of para athletes despite challenges. He assured that the administration would continue to prioritize the welfare and growth of para sports.

The event features 2,597 para athletes from 31 states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), competing in 15 para sports such as para cycling, para karate, and wheelchair basketball. The opening ceremony showcased a colorful march past and cultural displays, symbolizing Nigeria's unity and diversity.

The NSC emphasized the importance of maintaining discipline and sportsmanship among athletes.
